thoughts: (OR)D-day...

Timeline: 1304hrs

well. this is it i guess. 30th June 2004. ORD. Closing one chapter of my life (NS), and moving on to school again. it feels just like it did in the O's and the A's. you finally get there and you think you'll be on top of the world, but you're not. somehow, i'm happy, somehow, i'm not. don't ask why, but it's just a feeling i have. i think the fact i'm leaving MSD hasn't really sunk in yet... i'm still attached to my job. what the hell...

lotsa things have happened in the last 30 months or so... especially in NS life. Got to go to places other people can perhaps only wonder about, meet loads of new people, make friends, ride the 'formula one' bus, and of course, Min (who happens to be Jie's sister's housemate in Uni in australia)

Doesn't seem that long ago really. most of the posts in the blog were about that situation then - my crush on her- and after that, i re-produced the blog, minus all that stuff. remember those times, talking to Jie about the situation, getting her advice, getting advice from Ho.... but all that's behind me i guess. Min still means something to me - a friend who helped me in my spiritual growth if you may put it that way. she gave me the inspiration and the motivation to improve my christian walk. and in all that, i got 'adopted' by Jie... cool right?

Well... what can i say then? believe it or not, i'm gonna miss this place. there are memories - there always will be... the people, the job... so this'll be probably the last time i'm posting from MSD... library or otherwise... too bad couldn't manage to train my own understudy. it just proves that even the best plans can be foiled... not by you but by circumstances. that's something i should bring out to the rest of my life... like that situation with her. Aw man...

Well... done a few last things

1. Last despatch (External and Internal)
2. Last Acknowledgment(sign over documents)
3. Last trip on the 'Formula 1' Ngee Ann Primary School bus
4. Last minute shopping trip at emart (clearing $223.15 of SAF credit)
4. Last-minute clearance.

ok. the last point (no pun intended) requires some explaining. before i ORD, needed clearance of various officers in different branches (they need to sign this thingy called the clearance form, basically go around getting officers autographs). Didn't manage to get a few the last time i came to work so was desperately finding all the people to get signatures from. And then after that, realised that i didn't get a signature from the QM. soooo, being me, panic like mad, went down there to get the signature (lucky me). Either that or it was 'come back tomorrow'. ARGH.

Timeline: 1900 hrs

It really has'nt sunk in. the fact that from tomorrow onwards i'll never have to step foot into MSD or Mindef... or any other 'classified' place for that matter. Well, that means no more despatch, no hanging around with the guys... i'm supposed to feel happy but... i guess there are some things that are hard to let go... it's not the job, or the 2 1/2 years of 'slavery' but the people who make the job interesting. and well, i don't have that any more i guess... maybe one day i'll go back to visit. maybe... but we'll see i guess.
