[transmission start]thoughts: see and be seen... from different perspectives...
when you look into the mirror what do you see? yourself right? but if you look deeper, what do you really see? what kind of person do you see yourself to be? what is your impression of yourself?
on the flipside... ever wondered what people see when they look at you? what kind of person you are to them? really? and how does that impression they have of you indicate how much they really know about you, or how much of the 'real' you they see?
i've asked around... and the conclusion i've sort of come to is that we all have misconceptions about ourselves. sometimes because we're 'in looking out' we don't see the whole picture of us, therefore having a 'distorted' or incomplete impression of ourselves. and when you ask people what they see you as, sometimes you're surprised by what they see because it's so different from what you THINK they see in you. (are you lost yet?)
do you then believe that it is necessary to do this? or is it some sort of indirect ego trip? it all depends on what they tell you... whether they tell you all the nice stuff, leaving out the other things... the not-so-nice stuff that you need to know that can possibly help you become a better person. because you yourself, despite the misconceptions you may have about certain things in yourself, there are things you are definite about -- some of your shortcomings at least. and you just have to hope that they tell you THOSE things. ok, so they're not the nicest things to hear, but they WILL help you.
till next time...
