[transmission start]thoughts: what's the right thing to do.... OR - is it wrong if things are left to you to decide? (don't you just hate cheesy openers?)
The right thing. everybody wonders, don't they? whether they've done the right thing. whether the choice was the correct one, whether the decision was for the best.... i'm sure everyone's been there and done that, at some point.
right now (no pun intended) i wonder if i did do the right thing. but everyone does wonder i guess. is the right thing to do the one that is the choice you're most comfortable with (i.e. the one you feel is the best for you) or is it the other one which is harder (i.e. the one that's better for others)? one is for self, the other is well, for other people. do the decisions you make reflect on you as a person? (wait a minute, i shouldn't be asking this - i know that decisions determine character) is self-sacrifice better than self-indulgence (for lack of a better word)? i guess it depends on the situation.
and yet, you wonder if either you being some self-serving little bastard or some guy trying to have that 'holier than thou' attitude for being self-sacrificing. sorry about the strong language. it's just me. either way, you can never be sure. because no matter how you judge yourself, others will bound to judge you too, and not always in the same light at that. i've learnt in life that you can never please everbody. either way, whichever decision you make will always leave some people unhappy.
so is there really such a thing as the right thing i wonder? or is it just some impossible decision that can never be made i.e. the decision that will make EVERYONE happy? well, i may be wrong to say that it doesn't exist, but that's left for you to decide on your own...
till next time (where there are hopefully less chessy 'unintended puns'. hey, i couldn't help myself ok? i just had to put them in, even if it wasn't the best choice)....
