thoughts: leadership....

here's my take on the famous quote from 'Twelfth Night" by Shakespeare - the word in italics is the one i substituted into the quote.

"Be not afraid of leadership / responsibility. Some are born leaders, become leaders and others have leadership thrust on them. (whether they like it or not)"

ok fine, so i've made some ammendments. but it's MY BLOG, and MY POST. so what the hell.

On analysis of the whole quote, the last bit applies to me. but you see, that's what i think. and sometimes, God doesn't care what i think - especially if he thinks it isn't the right thing...  you see, often times i've looked at myself and seen guys like Jonah and Jeremiah... and perhaps even Gideon... the unwilling guys who God used to do great stuff. but only the unwilling bits.

Elena says my mentality has to change. you're a leader, so fine. you've got the job, you've got to make it work. you were put there for a purpose, not by some bloody accident (not a case of right place, right time. you know what i mean?). because there is perhaps something he sees there, which you may not even see within yourself. potential you never knew you had, never knew existed.

True, you've gotta work at it. even though you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what you're supposed to do. It's a little like the 'GREEN LANTERN' comic I've been reading recently - where Kyle (the Green Lantern) searches for other superheroes to learn from -  on how to be a hero. in my case, my journey of discovery is how to be  a better leader of a CG... on the job training kind of thing... you pick up tips and pointers from others, and yet, take them all and use what you think applies to your situation. because not everything applies all the time... but you hold on to all the tips you've picked up, to use them when you need them. and that creates 'experience'. so much so that eventually, you can pass the tips down to another... who will one day, like you start his / her own leadership journey...

till next time...
