thoughts: it's all in the cards....

right. first up, props to Max for this stuff he shared in CG on saturday about tai-tee. don't get me wrong, our cg has not become a gambling den. it's just that what Max shared that inspired me to look at things in a new light... so here goes...

It's been said that life's like a game of cards - sometimes you get dealt bad hands. i'm sure everyone's been dealt their 'bad hand' at one point or another. i know i have. but no one ever puts God into the picture right? i mean, everyone says gambling is bad, so why get God involved in a game of cards (or something like that)?

Ok. so as in any game of cards, you get good hands and bad hands. but it's what you do with the cards that make all the difference. in tai-tee the 2 of spades is the biggest card.... but what's the use of having the most powerful card in the deck if you don't know how to play it right? or that you can't play it the way you want it to.... so it proves that having a good hand doesn't guarantee a win.

i mean, you can play straights, flushes, pairs, full houses.... and it doesn't need good cards all the time to do that... so i bet you wonder where God comes in for this whole long story.... well, think of your life as the hand you've been dealt - all the cards are like the things in life you've been given, like talents etc. some have more, some have less... and some have combinations that are absolute winners (like a royal flush).... the important thing is that on our own, we may not be able to play the right combinations (in a sense), because being who we are, we may not entirely see the whole picture (unless you happen to tell me that you're omniscient. but that's unlikely)... THAT'S where God comes in (bet you were wondering).... God sees everything. He sees your talents, your situation and the best combination to get the best out of you.

So it just shows that in life, you don't need all the aces (or the 2s for that matter, depending on what game you're playing)... cos sometimes what you've got might be the best possible combination, though you may think that it sucks...

till next time...
