[transmission start]thoughts: trials, tresspasses and temptations...
they say everything happens for a reason.... to build character, gain experience, to help you grow as a person (in the Christian context, become more like Jesus Christ). and along the journey of life, you face trials, temptations and tresspasses, Christian or otherwise. but i think everyone does have problems with temptations... trials not everyone gets in equal severity, and tresspasses, well...
Right. back to the issue of temptations then... how you deal with each of these determines what you become, what kind of character you develop (because of the decisions you make), and these different experiences shape your outlook on life. No one ever said life was easy, or that life was fair. some people seem to have more of the 3Ts than others, but i think it just depends in which areas they come... they're easier to deal with in some cases, harder in others.
In some instances the lines are clearly drawn. it's either yes or no. black and white, good and bad, simple as that... but in other scenarios, that's not exactly the case.... it's usually shades of grey, and there's always that element of doubt about what you're doing... because sometimes you wonder if either decision regarding the 3Ts is correct...
I don't know how people deal with theirs. i do know however that for Christians, God is there to give you help. because these things usually aren't able to be mastered in your own strength. Nobody can face up to these every single day and not get tired out. it's just not possible. and when that happens (getting tired out), giving in to temptations seems like such an easy way out of the whole mess... but in actual fact it just gets you into a bigger one. short term solution causes long term problem. ever thought of it that way?
i'll leave you at this point to ponder how to deal. i know (and you probably do too) that facing up to these ain't a piece of cake. you can try to dodge them but, somehow, somewhere, they'll find you. and facing up to them isn't the easiest thing to do.... just pray that you have the strength to know what's the right thing to do....
till next time...
