thoughts: nonsense and clarification...

disclaimer: names witheld to protect the innocent...

well... i guess everyone's heard of 'speculation'... especially that kind where they say that 2 people are going together... funny how people draw crazy conclusions from apparent 'observations'.... so anyway...

managed to clear up some 'speculation' recently.... was really funny, and at the same time a little weird... i mean, it's not every day that you go around asking people about whether speculation regarding them is true... it's on the verge of being nosey... but does the fact that you're personally involved change it at all? i wonder...

so just because you're personally involved in the situation means that you have the right to 'poke around' and find out the truth? is that something you're entitled to? just to satisfy personal curiousity at the risk of a friendship? hmm... things to think about...

at the same time it's a little bit weird that if you don't clear up the speculation, then you let it perpetuate, and well, who knows? it might become 'self-fulfilling'... that necessarily isn't a good or bad thing to tell you the truth...

but anyway, realised that although i've done my bit (in my opinion) to clarify the 'speculation' (and satisfy my curiousity) but i realised that i have got to do something to help ___ on ____'s side of the situation too... just because i find out it isn't true doesn't mean that i've quelled the 'speculation' does it?

so... i guess at some point or other everyone'll face this too... how you deal with it, and how you help the other people involved deal with it, well... hope it works out...

you know what? i'm glad i let ____ know about this. no one should ever be kept in the dark about stuff being said behind their backs (or should they? or is that just idealism?)... i wouldn't... would you?
