thoughts: remember the time...?

i'm in the midst of cleaning up my room (something that's long overdue). and i came across this card / letter my friend wrote for me for my birthday 1 year ago (it DID say happy 22nd after all). and then, reading through it 1 year later, it kind of shows how things have changed. and so, with(out) your permission A, i'll put some of the stuff in. understand that i don't mean to embarrass you or anything. but if i unintentionally do, please forgive me.

"Cuz I just wrote this totally depressing blog entry on my blog. But you wouldn't know cuz you don't have internet access. Haven't talked to you in a wk+..."

funny how we used to be closer, you know? but things change, time moves on, and we get on with our lives. i remember some time back during your major exam year you suddenly asked me over MSN about whether we've "drifted apart" as friends. and now when i think about it all (almost a whole year and a bit later)... i can't really answer that. because like i said earlier - things change and time moves on. and we get on with our own lives.

it's wrong to compare what WAS and what IS. because it isn't the same (thus making for a biased comparison). and then i realise this is a persistent issue that affects everyone (and i've posted about this same thing before, but its only come up again as a result of the mass overhaul). so please don't get the wrong idea A. i'm not implying anything. just that finding your birthday card / letter got me thinking about stuff (not necessarily a bad thing).
