[transmission start]thoughts: what happens when you reach the end of the road?
looking back at the last post.... and how things change, i can't help but wonder... a few months (or at best years) from now, when i leave my university life behind, do the friendships stop there? because if you think about it, its just another phase isn't it?
sometimes i lie awake at night and wonder whether after graduation we'll ever really speak to each other ever again, or keep any other form of contact. or is it just going to be the same like every other time, where things change, and we get on with our lives?
i really don't know where i'd be without my current friends in university. really. they're my anchor in the whole experience where you're perpetually moving from one place to another, where there's no firm sense of belonging. i guess that's why i wonder what happens next. whether after graduation we'll ever talk to each other, ever meet up, because life will most probably send us down pretty different paths, some known and others not.
and say maybe even 2, 3 years from now. when you look back at your photos you've taken with these friends, at the memories you had together.... will you ever forget any of them? or will you go, "now just who the heck was that in the picture?"
i guess its unlikely most of us will forget, considering how there's so many forms of communication available right now - msn, handphones, email - but will you use these things to keep in contact, will the relationship still be as close? its hard to say really.
its easy to get caught up with our own lives, even now. what more when we graduate and work takes up the majority of our time. right now its so much easier because everyone's on an instant messaging service at most times of the day. but when work starts, how often is that going to be?
sometimes i really can't help but wonder about these things. really.
till next time...
